Moses Wetang'ula Officially Ditches NASA, Says Raila is a Traitor

Bungoma senator Moses Wetang'ula has officially announced his departure from Opposition coalition, National Super Alliance (Nasa).

Speaking on Monday after a meeting with Ford-Kenya party members in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, Wetang'ula said his exit came after betrayal by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Wetang'ula said the party resolved to ditch the coalition after Odinga’s unity pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta earlier this year.

“In my view, Nasa is now a moribund organization. Nasa is history. We were in Nasa as FORD-Kenya in a coalition of the willing, we suffered a massive betrayal by our presidential candidate and as a party we are now focused on how to strengthen our grassroots support and to strengthen our national appeal,” said the Bungoma Senator, who was a Nasa co-principal.

Wetangula said the party will now focus on grassroots campaigns ahead 2022 General Election, where he will run for presidency.

“I lead a party that has a history and has fought so hard to level the playing field in this country. I am a presidential candidate and my party has endorsed me for the seat,” said Wetangula.

He further lauded former US President Barack Obama for his visit to country, but accused him of failing to push for any development in Kenya when he was still in power.

Nasa coalition was formed after Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Party and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi teamed up with Odinga's ODM ahead of 2017 polls.

When NASA was there, you never left. Now that there is no NASA, you have the audacity to leave. Waste of time.

Weta is a good lawyer, but a poor decision maker. Welcome to dreamland Mose for you do not know where you are headed, politically speaking.

Just saw him two weeks ago in a hotel restaurant drinking tea by himself. Everyone noticed him but nobody seemed to care that he was there.

"my party has endorsed me" statement sounds as selfish as it lacks democracy.
Secondly to say you're a presidential candidate now is sheer ignorance. Go shake hands with DP Ruto and stop name calling. sounds like a failure.
