Billionaire Media Mogul SK Macharia's Son John Macharia's Remains Cremated
Billionaire media mogul SK Macharia’s son, John Macharia was on Tuesday cremated ahead of his final sendoff later this week.
Nairobi News reports that the businessman was incinerated at the Lang’ata Cemetery Crematorium in a session only attended by family members and close friends.
A funeral service was held at his father’s home in Murang’a on Thursday. John passed away at the Karen Hospital on Thursday night after being involved in a freak accident along the Southern bypass in Nairobi. His passenger survived.
John was reportedly over speeding when he lost control of his Porsche 911 Turbo S 2016 car at around 11pm.
SK Macharia owns Royal Media Services, which runs Citizen TV, Inooro TV and over 10 FM radio stations. Until his demise, John was the director and founder of Triple A Finance and Direct Line Assurance.
He becomes the second high profile individual in Kenya to be cremated in a week after second liberation hero Kenneth Matiba. Matiba was incinerated last Friday at the Lang'ata crematorium.

Yes, you fight tooth and nail to succeed and get rich, then what? The happiness you hoped for is only a mirage, and depression sets in. You start to acquire material things in a frenzy but these only serve as temporary fulfillment, so you acquire even more, drink more,and drown in vice. Nothing doing. Your demise is hastened,and the poor villager lives on. There must be a better way,and it has nothing to do with getting rich and acquiring more and more. Believe me, I've been there and I know. I'm living simple life now and I'm so much happier, really happy, but without the material stuff and the crazy race for wealth. Your choice.

@Mutuura Wa Kibuu, there is nothing wrong with being rich. If God bless you with wealth look for a good thing to do with your money eg. Michael R. Bloomberg donated $1.1 billions to Johns Hopkins. Do not make money your god and worship it.

"BILLIONAIRE MEDIA MOGUL". Do you really have to remind us? Are we supposed to admire or envy? If you ask me, I'd say he is at this time the saddest person on Earth, his wealth notwithstanding. I'd bet he would be ready to give it up in exchange for his child. Real happiness is not synonymous with wealth.

Yes but we are not English..lol. why do some people put so much effort to make being eloquent in the queens language the norm to judge how smart a person is? What about the Germans, Chinese who don't speak the Queens language? What about the those KENYANS who can speak the English language better than the queen but cannot a complete paragraph in their mother language? Are you one of them? Same people who can tell you everything you need to know about MAN U or Chelsea but do not know anything about Harambee stars? Just saying!
