Babu Owino: Miguna Miguna is a Conman Who Must Be Exposed

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino says that self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna is bitter with the handshake between President Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga because it ended his 'business'.

In a series of tweets, the youthful MP said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two leaders angered Miguna because he can no longer hold public lectures in various cities around the world, where he netted cash through entry fees, selling of merchandise and fees to take pictures with him.

"Miguna Miguna is a sad man. Uhuru-Raila peace agreement put a drastic stop to his foreign public lectures which was a booming business where he charged entry and fees for those who took pictures with him. This con man must be exposed!" he tweeted on Tuesday.

Babu further claimed that Miguna had been pursuing personal interests in the name of fighting injustices and that he was under someone's payroll.

"Miguna would want us to believe that he has the best interest of the families of those who perished as a result of last year's general election at heart when we know that he is a pretender.He never contributed a coin to the families not to mention paying any of them a visit," Babu tweeted.

"We all know on whose payroll Miguna Miguna rants. Miguna Miguna was never interested in coming back to Kenya in the first place he wanted the drama and limelight."

However, in a quick rejoinder, Miguna told Babu that Opposition chief Raila Odinga also held public lectures where he charged fees.

"Hahaha! Raila also fundraised in foreign countries and people paid entry fees and to take pictures with him. I will start another tour soon. Viva!," he responded.

In March, the exiled lawyer held events in different cities in the US, Canada, UK and Germany, where he marketed the National Resistance Movement ahead of his return to Kenya after he was deported on February 6th over his role in the mock swearing of Odinga as people's president.

He was, however, kicked out of the country for the second time, 72 hours after landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on March 26th.
