Deputy President Ruto: Why I Make Frequent Visits to Kakamega

Deputy President William Ruto has revealed why he makes frequent visits to Kakamega County. Speaking when he officially closed the 5th annual Devolution Conference in Kakamega on Thursday morning, Ruto disclosed that he feels connected to the Western Kenya county because he got his better-half from there.

"Governor Oparanya says I come to Kakamega often. It's true. I got my better half from here," he said at the closing ceremony amid cheers from the delegates.

Ruto noted that his wife Rachel schooled at Likuyani Primary and Butere Girls' High schools in Kakamega town. He said she hails from the region, which explains why he feels connected to Kakamega.

"When I came to pay dowry, I went to Likuyani. Those looking for a reason as to why I hang around here often ... you now know why."

"You don't forget that place easily ... Like the Bible says, he who finds a wife finds a good thing ... aside from the fact that I am just a neighbour," he said.

DP Ruto quote, ""You don't forget that place easily ... Like the Bible says, he who finds a wife finds a good thing ... aside from the fact that I am just a neighbour," Then, why have you had mpango wa kando if truly you adore, respect and love your wife?
