Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Moves Cabinet Members in Major Reshuffle

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has on Monday announced a reshuffle of his ten-member Cabinet, barely four months after the executives assumed office.

In a circular dated 26th February, Sonko said the changes takes effect immediately. He said the rearrangement is aimed at ensuring better delivery of services at the County Hall.

"The changes should take effect immediately and the Executive Members should take their work with the seriousness it deserves," reads part of the circular," he said in the circular.

In the changes, Finance Executive Veska Kangongo has been replaced by Danvas Makori, who was in charge of the Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries docket. Kangongo takes charge of Devolution docket.

Larry Wambua, who headed Devolution, is the new Environment executive, and replaces Emmah Mukuhi who has been moved to the ICT docket.

Charles Kerich, who headed ICT, has been transfered to Lands while Peter Njuguna was moved from Lands to Agriculture department.

However, Hitan Majevdia (Health), Allan Igambi (Tourism), Janet Ouko (Education, Youth, Gender and Sports) and Mohammed Dagane ( Roads, Infrastructure and Transport) have retained their dockets.

 "The Executive members should take their work with the seriousness it deserves," reads part of the circular.

"The Governor is after effective service delivery. People should not read too much into this - it is purely to make Nairobi County more productive."Nairobi Deputy Director of Communications, Elkana Jacob said.

This is a joke. The first 6 months in a professional job is time for learning and get familiar with the Nairobi city govt.

Sonko tell us what the CS for Agriculture, Livestock Development, Fisheries & Devolution dockets will be doing? Did you copy that from babayao forgetting there are no farms, livestock & Fisheries in Nairobi.
