Mike Sonko Supporters Electrocuted in Nairobi

Four supporters of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko have been hospitalized after suffering serious injuries when they were electrocuted on Wednesday evening. The four are said to have been on top of a lorry during an impromptu political rally organized by the Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful near Marikiti market, along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi.

The victims came into contact with live electricity cables on Haile Selassie Avenue while they were on the rooftop of a lorry that was ferrying them from the Jubilee headquarters in Nairobi.

The four fell off the vehicle, sustaining serious injuries and were rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

The senator was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, and a host of Jubilee MPs led by Aden Duale and Johnson Sakaja when the incident happened.

A fourteen year old minor is among those injured while others were Peterson Juma 30, Robert Mutia 18, and the fourth victim could not be identified as he didn’t have identification documents.
