Kenyan Gospel Singer Jimmy Gait Dispels Cancer Rumors

Kenyan gospel singer Jimmy Gait has dispelled reports claiming that he is battling cancer.
This comes after rumors that the “Muhathara” hit-maker was diagnosed with throat cancer spread on social media this week.
Gait, who traveled to India last Sunday to seek specialized treatment for a throat condition, said he was yet to be diagnosed with cancer and urged Kenyans to stop spreading fake news on social media.
“I would like to highlight something that I have noticed on social media, that I have come here (India) for cancer treatment and that I have throat cancer. I don’t know where that came from,” said Gait.
“I would like to appeal to those spreading those kinds of rumors to kindly desist because we are still doing tests and until the results are out, it’s not right to start spreading those kinds of rumors. It is already affecting my family.”
He continued: “I’m waiting for the results and I am trusting God that I will get a good report,” the gospel singer continued. It’s not easy what I’m going through but I trust and believe that God will come through for me.”
Last week, the musician divulged that he was battling a strange throat condition for the past three months and would be flying to India for surgery.
“For three months I have been inactive on social media prompting people to ask about my whereabouts, I have been to several hospitals seeking medication for undisclosed ailment hence my absence from the limelight,” said Gait.
“I am expected to be there for 15 to 20 days. Pray for me as I go through treatment. Thanks for all your support…much love!”
He also said he was worried for his music career because doctors advised him against singing until he is cured.
“I have never been to surgery. That [it will be] on my greatest asset makes me worry more. Let us not be negative,” he said.
“It is really difficult for me because singing is what I do for a living, and staying away from the studio sounds very boring.”
