Kenyan Singer Esther Wahome’s Dad Succumbs to Cancer

Popular Kenyan gospel singer Esther Wahome’s father, Evangelist William Wahome Gikonyo has passed away.

Ms. Wahome took to social media to break the news about the death of her dad. In a post on her official Facebook page, the musician said Evangelist Gikonyo succumbed to cancer on Saturday, July 27th.

She said her dad had been battling the disease since the beginning of this year.

“Yesterday, July 27, you were transferred to heaven immediately after I talked to you and held you for the last time and you handed over a different mantle to me. Though I know you are in heaven, the physical and emotional pain is too much,” Ms. Wahome wrote on Facebook.

“Even as you battled cancer this year (2019), I never heard you complain, all you said is God is a great and good,” Ms. Wahome noted, adding that he was her spiritual mentor and the greatest fan of her music.
