US Fast-Food Chain Hardee's to Open New Restaurant in Kenya

United States fast-food restaurant Hardee’s will in March open its third branch in Kenya. The new outlet will be located at Two Rivers Mall; its launch coming only a month after it unveiled its second outlet in the country, along Westlands Road.

Rohit Gambhir, the burger chain's general manager in Kenya said the new outlet will mainly target the large number of people shopping at the mall, while the Westlands branch taps workers of blue-chip companies located near the area.

The global fast-food brand opened its first outlet in Kenya at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in mid-2016. This was its first outlet in the Sub-saharan Africa. Gambhir said the three joints will employ about 60 people.

“Our expansion drive this year has been inspired greatly by the positive growth recorded by the firm over the time we have been in Kenya and the growing demand for our products and services. Giving quality and something refreshing to our customers is why we have been able to record growth,” said Gambhir, an ex- KFC executive.

Hardee’s has more than 3,800 franchised or company-operated outlets in 44 countries.

These overseas companies should use Kenyan grown products which should be certified and that is the only way they can create job opportunities and essentially help Kenya. UhuRuto don't sell out on this cos in addition some companies sell hazardous foods for human consumption and you wonder where cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes is coming from. Kenyans can not afford to use huge portions of their returns/ income on health care we are still a third world we need to build the country. Control is key and that is exactly what they would do if we went to their countries to invest if not stricter. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
