Doline Wanjiku Maina, an 11-year-old girl, was diagnosed with Leukemia last year in Kenya. She recently came to the US, where she is receiving treatment at Riley Hospital in Indiana. She received infusion chemotherapy on March 1st, and is doing well. Her next chemo infusion is scheduled for March 29th.
Doline’s leukemia is in remission, but she will need an additional year of treatment while she stays with family in Indiana. The estimated cost of treatment for one year is around $30,000, and Doline is not covered by health insurance.
Her family, who has been paying her expensive medicine out of pocket, is appealing for the community’s prayers and support to help keep the young and bright girl alive.
