Over 200 Senior Managers Invited to Apply for Permanent Residence in Canada

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada conducted the first Express Entry draw for senior managers with Canadian work experience on 5 March 2026, inviting 250 candidates to apply for permanent residence under a newly created category.

According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the lowest-ranked candidate invited in the draw had a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 429. A tie-breaking rule applied to profiles submitted before 19 August 2025 at 15:10:18 UTC.

This ensured that candidates with the same score were ranked fairly. Invitations were issued only to those ranked 250 or higher.

To qualify for the category, candidates must have at least one year of full-time work experience in Canada within the previous three years, or an equivalent amount of part-time work. The experience must be in designated senior management roles.

These positions include leadership roles in construction, transportation, production, utilities, trade, broadcasting, healthcare, education, social services, financial services, communications, and other business sectors. The work experience does not need to be continuous. Data on the Comprehensive Ranking System score distribution as of 1 March 2026 offers a snapshot of the Express Entry candidate pool.

The figures change regularly as new profiles are submitted and older profiles expire. They nevertheless provide an indication of the number of candidates competing for invitations.
