Former LSK President Allen Gichuhi Loses Gov't Job a Month After His Appointment

Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Allen Gichuhi has lost a government job, weeks after his appointment.

Gichuhi’s appointment to the Industrial Property Tribunal was revoked through a gazette notice published by the Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization, Trade and Business Development, Betty Maina.

“In the exercise of the powers conferred by Article 113 (1) and (2) of the Industrial Property Law, as read in conjunction with Article 51 of the Interpretation Law and General Provisions, the Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization, Trade, and Enterprise Development revokes the appointment of Allen Gichuhi as President of the Industrial Property Court,” the notice dated October 29th, 2021 reads.

CS Maina did not state the reasons why she revoked the lawyer’s appointment to the State parastatal.

Gichuhi was appointed as the chairperson of the Industrial Property Tribunal in September this year for a three-year term.

He served as the president of LSK from March 2018 to March 2020.
