The body of a Kenyan woman who died under mysterious circumstances in Saudi Arabia in April has arrived in the country.
The plane carrying the remains of 24-year-old Caroline Aluoch landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Saturday with emotions running high as family members received the body.
The body was shuttled to Chiromo Mortuary where a post-mortem examination will be carried out on Sunday to confirm whether her death was by suicide as alleged by the Saudi Arabian government.
The family received the devastating news about her death on May 5th and have had to wait for two months to receive her body for burial.
Aluoch, who was a second-year student at Kisii University, went to Saudi Arabia in November 2020 to seek employment after discontinuing her studies due to lack of school fees.
She secured a job as a domestic worker but things went wrong following an accident at work. Her family says Aluoch lived in fear after informing her relatives about her predicament. She last communicated with the family on April 9th.
“She had complained that her employers were beating her because she had refused to sell food in the streets. Her contract was to work as a house girl,” her mother Ruth Atieno said.
The family disputes a report by Saudia’s Health Ministry claiming that Aluoch committed suicide. She is scheduled to be laid to rest at her family home in Homa Bay on Tuesday.

@Sukari, remember Kenyan leaders are cut from the same cloth as the chiefs who sold their own brothers to these Arabs centuries ago. Some greedy officials are making money on the graves of these poor Kenyans.
No idea why our CHILDRENS are kept been sent to this Countries where lives is not respected!. Poverty and poor living standard leads our CHILDRENS to decide to go and risk their lives which is very unfortunate. CHILDRENS should be monitored after leaving School and be directed the right way. Sometimes back they were enrolled in National YOUTH Services and here they can learn careers to get them jobs and be trained how to be good Citizens and the dangerous lives they can encounter on some of this NATIONS.
@Ben. You are right. It's really frustrating to see our people suffer this way. Arabs/Asians have never had an ounce of respect for black lives. Even at coast, you will see the swahili Arabs for what they are - not all but the majority. Not right lakini as one who has seen and suffered despair, I can see what the allure is for these families, so I feel the intervention has to be via the government. Lakini if they are part of the problem....slave traders, put bluntly.
And all of you said if Idi Amin was a mad man for kicking Asians/Arabs out of Uganda with 90 days! Back then, the Asians had suppressed the black Ugandans to a point where ugandans were subjected to work as slaves in their own country! Amin had to do something drastic to change that landscape! And surely he chased Indians out of uganda without hesitation or mercy!
Be warned you all, selling of body organs is a huge lucrative business in Saudia! Once you are ‘hired’ as a maid, they begin making life a living hell for you to get frustrated and report such to your people in kenya so that a narrative is crafted that you committed suicide after they kill you to steal your kidneys, heart, or liver. When you see sawn cuts on your deceased body and inquire from secondary post morterms why the parts are missing, the explanation is they were removed in saudia as part of the initial post morterm done there!! Go figure out!!! DO NOT sEND yourself or anyone else to Saudia OR Yemen! Its a death warrant!!

And while the economy has under performed, those who went to the Arab countries made their own decision to go there. Many had been told not to go but they went there anyway! Experience is the best friend and teacher anyone can ever have!
