President Uhuru Defends KDF’s Involvement in Government Projects
President Kenyatta has told off those criticizing his administration for involving the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) in State projects.
Speaking in Kisumu on Monday, Kenyatta vowed to continue engaging the army in key projects, saying it is doing a good job.
The president stated that the government will not give in to the noise from a section of political leaders and other organizations, adding that KDF has proved to be effective in accomplishing assignments.
He cited the revamping of the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) as an example, stating that previous regimes’ attempts to revive the organization failed and ended up wasting government resources.
“Those making noise, continue making noise we will continue working, we will not lose focus,” said Kenyatta.
Uhuru termed the attacks on KDF as unwarranted, saying that army officers are also Kenyans and can play a role in development.
“Am proud that working with KDF, Kenya railways among others we have been able to revamp the Kisumu port,” he added.
Kenyatta spoke during the commissioning of the Kenya Shipyard Limited (KSL), the keel-laying ceremony, and flagging off of MV Uhuru II on its 51st voyage. KSL is a State-owned nascent shipbuilding and repair facility.
He was accompanied by his Burundi counterpart Evariste Ndayishimiye, who arrived in the country on Monday for a two-day state visit.
Evariste will be the guest of honor during the 58th Madaraka Day celebrations that will be held at Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu on Tuesday.

Time has come for jambazi Uhuru to surrender all the govt operations to the KDF.Why should he continue presiding over EATING of shs 2b.daily yet the soldiers can run a lean govt and punish all looters?Why have 47 governors instead of 47 Badis?Even 10 Badis can perform all duties in 47 counties and punish all looter governors including Mumbi,Mutua,Kabogo etc.

Hahaha. So its not just me who has been noticing? Thanks for saying allowed what many of us have been seeing. Some guy told me this phrase a while aways but I forgot. Now its back to the front. Hiyo tumbe mbele syndrome is tell-tale of excesses either in the booze halls or amenona sana eating mbuzi and lambs daily.
But seriously some guy said wanajeshi are now doing menial mbuzi gutting tasks at KMC (or is this just prep for something sinister) mara taka-taka chongolo pipa collectors in town, although in defense, Sonko had a true crime cartel running trash ops that rivaled the mobsters in NYC in the 50s with shakedowns, extortions so only army could come in as a force. Halafu the SGR- RVR railways to UG with old kaburu rails being weeded and re-cleaned is by the KDF too. So, yes what happens now to the true engineers, butchers etc?
Flagging of MV vessel for its 51st voyage is a bit too much. Why not also have a ribbon ceremony for every 50 yr old renovated building too in Kenya? Call the useless press and cover the "event" as news.
