Moi's Grandson Demands DNA Test in Sh1 Million-a-Month Child Upkeep Suit

Collins Toroitich, a grandson of the late former President Daniel Arap Moi has demanded a DNA test in a case where he was sued for child maintenance by his former wife.

He is accused of neglecting his two children, a boy and a girl aged 9 and 11, after separating from their mother Gladys Jeruto Tagi.

Toroitich says he is ready to take responsibility if paternity tests confirm he is the biological father to the two kids.

The two reportedly got married in 2008 and had two children together before divorcing four years later in 2011.

In the suit filed before Principal Magistrate Benjamin Limo, Jeruto says she is unable to cater for the children after their father abandoned his parental responsibilities.

"I am currently unable to provide for the children alone as the needs are so many and would need to be assisted," Jeruto says in court documents.

She wants the court to compel Toroitich to pay her Sh1 million every month as child upkeep.

Jeruto, who unsuccessfully contested for the Koibatek Ward Representative seat, told the court that attempts to get in contact with Toroitich have been fruitless.

Toroitich, a businessman, is the son of the late Jonathan Moi, the first-born son of the late President Moi.

Why not take the kids to a DNA lab and get it done as opposed to talking about it. The court should determine what s reasonable for child support, Am not sure that it costs 1/2 a million a month to raise a child.

Can he tell us why the paternity doubt comes from?Yes,if he has evidence that she was sleeping with someone else at the time the kids were conceived, that would be a good reason.Or if he is sure that his gun is/was loaded with blanks...
Certainly a man does not "cry" paternity test for no reason,or just to avoid child support.

@ Nyina Wa Raila. You are correct. You got what I was saying. It has nothing to do with wanting the fellow to air his dirty linen in public. BTW, the case already public anyway.
If you go to court, they will ask even tougher questions.

Some of these boys wake up drunk and just start yapping as you say!

But I like this one @ maxiley because he does not curse, insult, or say bad things about any body here! I really like him like my own son!

This other boy with a very funny name is always cursing others! He did not even read the good things this boy maxiley said but he just want to insult him!

You see why I carry a two by four piece of wood to square these mannerless boys across the face? I dare this crazy boy to cross me. I will certainly take a revenge on him for Mr Maxiley! Who is the mother of this drunkard boy? Yeye ni mrevi!

Well put @ Nyina wa Chege. Mwakilishi presents this articles for the public to read, and comment on them,or rather air their opinions, and hopefully in an objective manner. This is a unique forum. Some of these insulting comments would not fly in many forums. So lets stick to issues at hand and not rubbish or insult the commentators. Its best to correct than to insult or disparage someone. It also pays to be open minded. Just because someone has attacked or pointed weakness in your opinion,or arguement, does not meant that they are insulting you personally. One philosopher said, change is the only constant. So I personally dont mind changing my position,if their is abetter one. That's how we improve.
