Drama at JKIA as Police Arrest Several Passengers [VIDEO]

There was drama at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Saturday after police officers arrested some passengers as they prepared to board flights.

A video shared by Nation shows uniformed officers forcefully dragging travelers out of the terminal with their luggage.

Passengers left in the queue are heard chanting protest slogans in solidarity with those who were being arrested.

Reports indicate the affected travelers did not have proof of accommodation, which shows that one agreed or prearranged a place to stay for the duration of their visit in the destined country.

Sources at the airport said those arrested were booked to JKIA police cells pending further action.

Police and the airport are yet to issue a statement on what exactly transpired.

...some illicit sometin' in those bags....pretty sure. Kenyan intelligence, when it decides NOT to look away, is one of the best.

At what point was it determined that these passengers did not have proof of accommodation,if required. Seems to me the airport line is not the place to verify this kind of information,or there lack of.Any paper work for traveling I would think is straightened out before one buys a ticket.
Anyway, this fellows are leaving the country .So what is the beef?Unless they are Kenyans running from the law, then,I would see it fit for them to be yanked from the queue, and have their day in court.Hopefully with due process .My two cents.

Story makes no sense somebody forgot to bribe the correct official or under bribed basically pesa haikutosha. If I do not have accommodation where am going what makes you think I have accommodation where am staying now or trying to run away from.Which country were they destined for and why is the Kenya police doing their job for them

I don't think that's a valid reason but again it depends on the destination country rules. Police economical with truth.

The report says they were arrested when waiting to board flights.... so now we are doing the police/immigration work for destination countries?
If someone is going to say Dubai, and UAE needs them to have proof of accommodation, why does Kenya have to arrest the people? It is the destination country's consulate's responsibility to verify accommodations before issuing travel visas. OR The airline can simply refuse to board them. End of story.
