No KCPE, KCSE Exams as Government Annuls 2020 School Calendar

The government has annulled the 2020 academic year for primary and secondary schools due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a result, there will be no KCPE and KCSE examinations in 2020 and this year’s candidates will sit for the assessments in 2021.

Addressing the press at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) in Nairobi on Tuesday, Education CS George Magoha said primary and secondary schools will reopen in January 2021.

“Based on the rising trend, we agreed to shelve classes. The country will be severely affected as all other children will lose the year. It shall be impossible to achieve social distancing,” said Magoha.

“In consultation with the Ministry of Health, we have agreed schools to reopen when daily COVID-19 cases reduce consistently for 14 days. Social and physical distancing is the most critical factor in ensuring the safety of learners.”

“Inter-county movement of students will cause severe challenges with high incidents of infections. We are happy to inform Kenyans that the president accepted the recommendations,” he added.

TVET institutions, colleges, and universities will be reopened in September this year but under strict guidelines.

“For universities, it will be a case to case assessment. The ministry will be conducting assessments to determine which institutions have met the minimum requirements before allowing them to resume studies,” added Magoha.

COVID-19 is here to stay.

Accept and move on.

This why we need secession.

The demonic cult called Kenya government lack the common sense to make simple decisions.

The entire world is in turmoil. We need to unite and find solutions to COVID-19. Individualism keeps risking lives. No country win COVID-19 on it's own. Melbourne, Austealia and some parts of the US have gone back to lockdown because they opened too early. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Kenyans and Africans let us use this time to teach our kids our languages, our history, about our God and culture. Do not wait for Covid-19, it is a plague and may be here to stay. Do not waste your kids time. Become both the parent and the teacher. You will be surprised how much your kids will learn from you. After Lockdown, there will not be any foreign experts. Let us accept that the world will never be the same. This is a new world!!
