Kenya Records Highest Single-Day Covid-19 Deaths and Infections

Kenya has registered the highest number of Covid-19 cases and fatalities in a single day since the outbreak of the disease.
On Thursday, the Health Ministry announced 213 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally of infections to 4,257.
The 213 new patients include 198 Kenyans and 15 foreign nationals with 151 being males while 62 are females. Their ages range from one year to 73.
The cases are distributed in the following counties; Nairobi (136), Mombasa (32), Kajiado (13), Kiambu (7), Busia (5), Nakuru (4), Machakos (4), Garissa (3), Isiolo (3), Taita Taveta (2), while Kitui, Migori, Narok, and Embu have one case each.
Similarly, the country posted a record number of Covid-19 fatalities with 10 patients succumbing to the illness in the past one day. This raised the Covid-19 death toll in Kenya to 117.
At the same time, 106 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the country, raising the total number of Covid-19 recoveries to 1,459.
As of Thursday, the Ministry of Health had examined a total of 130,498 samples.
