Uproar as OCS is Filmed Dragging Kenyan Woman Tied to His Motorcycle

A senior police officer in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County is under fire after he was filmed torturing a robbery suspect.

This comes after a video showing Olenguruone OCS dragging on a woman tied to his motorcycle emerged on social media, sparking uproar.

Speaking to local media on Wednesday, Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Marcus Ochola condemned the inhuman incident and ordered a probe into the conduct of the officer.

The footage shows the officer dragging the woman identified as 21-year-old Mercy Cherono along a rough path as residents watch from a distance.

Mercy, who is nursing injuries at Olenguruone Hospital, is heard in the video begging the policeman to stop to allow her to cover her body. One of the men cheering the OCS repeatedly whips the lady on the back as she pleads for mercy.

Reports indicate Cherono was among three suspects who allegedly broke into a house belonging to Olenguruone deputy OCS David Kiprotich on June 6th and made way with some valuables. The deputy OCS was away at the time his house was broken into. The suspects are said to have stolen Sh10,000, police uniform, a TV set, and a sub-woofer.

Unlike other suspects, Cherono did not manage to escape during the robbery incident and is reported to have locked herself in the bathroom after residents busted them stealing. Police officers dragged her out and beat her up before tying her to the motorbike.

Motion pictures don’t lie! It is a live video effect showing a woman being abused! It is very important to accept the facts as shown by the video. Do not cover up a crime of passion committed by cops to another human being (man or woman; boy or girl: or an animal for that matter)! The truth shall always reign here on earth as it is in Heaven!!
