Kenya’s Coronavirus Cases Rise by 7 to 179

Kenya has confirmed seven new cases of coronavirus raising the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 179.
In a media briefing on Wednesday, Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said all the seven patients, including four females and three males, are Kenyan nationals.
Dr. Mwangangi further indicated that four of the new patients recently traveled from abroad with two arriving from the United States, one from Congo and the other from the United Kingdom.
Five out of the seven new cases were registered in Nairobi County, one in Mombasa and the other in Uasin Gishu.
“Two of the cases emanated from our mandatory quarantine facilities while five were picked by our surveillance teams,” said Dr. Mwangangi.
Only one from the 179 Covid-19 patients is under critical care while the remaining are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms, she added. Another Kenyan patient who was in critical care at a private hospital has been discharged from ICU and taken to the general ward.
In terms of the age bracket of the 179 patients, three are aged below 15 years, 49 are aged between 15 to 29 years while 114 are aged between 30 and 59 years. 13 patients are above 60 years of age.

Law of unintended consequences: Corona virus will end dependency on the west for Africans!! Self- reliance is cropping up everywhere in Africa.
There will also be political, social, economic, spiritual and cultural casualties.
Only time will tell. At the end, two worlds are fighting for space. The independent world of self-reliance and the old world of dependency.
Those who believe in old foreign systems will be casualties of the virus and of their outdated beliefs!!
Let's keep watching!! Kenyans obey the law as the two opposing forces play out.
God help us remember the days of old!!
