Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua says the Coronavirus pandemic presents Kenya with a perfect opportunity to fix its ailing health system.
Speaking on Tuesday, Governor Mutua opined that the pandemic could be a blessing in disguise for Kenya.
Mutua said Kenyan leaders are used to flying abroad to seek medical treatment but the global outbreak of Covid-19 means they cannot travel overseas as most countries have enforced travel restrictions. Mutua the rich now have no choice but to seek treatment in local hospitals like with ordinary Kenyans.
He added that the outbreak should make leaders realize that the country’s healthcare system needs to be improved so that they do not have to travel abroad for medication.
“…poor or rich, coronavirus has ensured you can only seek treatment here. Nobody will accept you in London right now, India has been locked….You cannot go to Washington, Singapore, Italy. So if we are going to die, we will die together here,” says Mutua.
The number of Coronavirus cases in Kenya climbed to four on Tuesday after one more person was diagnosed with the disease. Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the patient traveled from London on May 8th and arrived in Kenya the next day.

Has Anyone noticed those who were running around politicking for 2020 have been put at bay by coronavirus crisis?
Even DP Ruto has stopped running around panicking and issuing unwarranted conflicting messages about the “system wanting to kill him”.
