British Soldiers in Lockdown After Night of Unprotected Sex with Kenyan Sex Workers

More than 650 British soldiers were recently confined to their barracks in Laikipia, Kenya after several of them allegedly engaged in unprotected sex with local commercial sex workers.

The military officers of the 3rd Battalion were in Kenya to participate in Exercise Askari Storm, according to a report by The Mail on Sunday.

The British publication reported that the soldiers took part in a simulated rescue of 400 people in a drill that involved parachuting into Mt. Kenya National Park.

After the exercise, the troops were granted leave and over 100 of them are said to have sought the services of prostitutes who set up temporary brothels next to the British Army Training Unit Headquarters in Nanyuki.

The following day, over 30 soldiers are reported to have sought medical advice at the camp’s health facility, saying they feared they may have contracted HIV or other STIs as they did not use condoms.

This infuriated the commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Mark Swann who imposed a lockdown until the soldiers fly back to the UK. An army spokesperson said they expect “very high standards of behavior” from the soldiers.

“All 3 Para BG pers [persons] are gated effective immediately. Situation: issues with poor discipline in Nanyuki, particularly to do with prostitution, have led the CO to direct that all pers are to be kept within barracks. Pers that are currently at safari lodges are allowed to remain tonight and return tomorrow morning. All other pers are to return to camp immediately.”

“All functions in Nanyuki are to be canceled – even if they are booked for this evening. There will be no visits to the curio shops or the mall,” an order issued by Lieutenant Swann read.

The “Majohnie” as they are called by the locals, know what kind of animal they are dealing with when they are in Africa. Ignorance pays up, our lady’s need to eat, it is stupid in the part of the CO to have the soldiers barricaded in the Barracks yet Kenya has a lot to over besides “prostitutes.” I rest my case.

Actually I find their behavior very shocking, mindful that they come from a society
that prides its self in education, and enlightenment, and sex education is supposedly more advanced, and wide spread compared to that it Africa.Having said this, regardless of what corner you come from, human challenges are pretty much the same... solutions may vary alittle bit based on culture, and exposure to science: in large education. But we all make the same mistakes, especially when young.

The folly of youth...I bet most of those involved are under 25 years of age. Probably younger. Stupidly they look at the young and sexy prostitute who exhibits no signs of sickness and in their rush to get the low hanging fruit" apple",they disregard all the advise wazee have dispensed.
Most of these young fellows were born way after the AIDS/HIV peak, and destruction had subsided. So to them, its just astory in the past, much like we read about the black plaque...
Ofcouse AIDS is much alive and deadly, but those who did not live through the height of its scare, and helplessness cannot understand how devastation it was before it was contained. It used to be a death sentence. Not any more,so agood number of reckless, and to some degree people with "sound minds",and respectable tend to let their guide down.
I guess the risk benefit ration varies from person to person...But is it not almost common sense not to have unprotected sex with a stranger, much less aprostitute whose work is to xxx as many men as possible for cash?Wow too risky... My two cents.

"bendera" ikisimama, hakuna otherwise, maji yale yako ndani lazima kitoke yaki elekea sehemu fulani.

Education and all other mind issues/knowledge/stories/self-control etc etc cannot stand in the way of this basic raw instinct... and with equally eager service providers on the loose... the situation is rather fluid.
