Online Fraud: Kenyan Man Cons British Football Fan of $100
A Kenyan man who allegedly used a fake Twitter account to defraud an Arsenal fan out of USD100 (about KSh10,000) has been exposed.
The fraudster, who posed as a British national, used Twitter handle @ArcellanoR and pretended he was in a position to sell to the fan a match day ticket, according to Arsenal fans channel, AFTV. He requested the fan to send him the money via PayPal after which he would send him the ticket.
After the payment was made, he took a while to send the ticket as agreed and kept on giving excuses and eventually blocked the buyer. In one of their DM conversations shared by AFTV, the Kenyan man claimed he was unable to confirm the payment as he was taking his medication.
A transaction receipt from PayPal showed the money was received by Samuel Mwangi on January 20th, 2020 at 13:29 hours.
AFTV warned fans to be aware of online scammers who are taking advantage of their desperation to acquire match day tickets. Occasionally, football fans are forced to buy tickets from the black market as opportunists buy them in bulk within hours of offering.

@Guest, the name 'Mwangi' in Mt Kenya, is an Age-Set, not a Name. It is the same way that you name a child, if it is born when the Sun is rising, or when Obama is coming to Kenya.
