CCTV Footage Shows Moment MP Babu Owino Allegedly Shot DJ Evolve

CCTV footage showing the moment when Embakasi East MP Babu Owino allegedly shot a person inside B-Club in Nairobi’s Kilimani area has emerged.

In the video that was first shared by K24 Digital, Babu is seen dressed in an orange t-shirt and smoking what appears like Shisha. An unidentified man and a woman are standing beside him.

Babu is then seen drawing a gun and shooting a man, who falls on the floor as other revelers scamper for safety. Shortly after, two unidentified men are seen carrying the victim outside.

The victim, whom police identified as Felix Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve, was taken to Nairobi Hospital after the incident. Babu was arrested at the hospital, where he had allegedly gone to visit the victim and was detained at Kilimani Police Station pending investigations into the incident and arraignment in court.

Speaking moments after Babu was arrested on Friday, lawyer Cliff Ombeta claimed that his client had been provoked during the 7 am incident.

“He (Owino) was approached in a non-friendly manner by someone he considered a friend and a physical fight ensued,” Ombeta said.
