Kisumu to Adopt Washington DC's Model, Governor Anyang Nyong'o Says

Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has revealed plans to have Kisumu borrow from Washington, DC's model on the construction of buildings and plan.

Nyong'o said the county is contemplating banning all buildings that rise above 10 storeys. This plan, the Governor said, would protect residents of the lakeside city from adverse effects of natural catastrophes witnessed in different parts of the world in recent years.

"We may adopt a policy that no house or apartment should be higher than 10 storeys in Kisumu. For good reasons, because the world is experiencing a lot of natural catastrophes."

"China is already regretting. It is reviewing its plans of high-rise apartments of 89 storeys and above," the Governor said.

For this reason, the county has contracted an international firm to conduct geophysical mapping and survey of the city before deciding to implement the policy.

"The contract was awarded last week. Two companies of international repute will do this so that we have a good plan and zoning for the city."

"Our feeling is that we should have a policy like Washington, DC and we shall consult the public on this," he stated.

What on earth is this Gov talking about. Its good to do some deep analysis of things before you go running your mouth and making a fool out of yourself. DC and the Entire Hollywood have buildings with lesser floors due to the unstably of the earth table but not due to climate change, and if they happen to build highrise building they tend to sink the same way those buildings found in Zimmerman 44. DC was once a swamp area and Kisumu has a stable earth table. Mr Gov wacha kupayuka nonsense.

Governor, you need to seek advice from locals as to what will reflect who they are. You do not need to be a copy cat. Make your people proud. Be innovative and original. Seek advice and plans from local architectures and engineers. Promote those whom you represent and those who vote for you. They are looking up to you for guidance. Do not in turn look to someone else for guidance. God help Kenya!!
