MP Moses Kuria to Uhuru: You’re Lying to Yourself on Handshake with Raila

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has urged President Kenyatta to end his unity deal with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Kuria, who spoke in reference to the violence witnessed during Kibra parliamentary by-election last Thursday, said Kenyatta was lying to himself that his handshake deal with Odinga was working.

The incidents of physical confrontation between a section of Jubilee politicians and ODM supporters during the by-election proved the handshake has achieved no peace, according to Kuria.

"I was among those who were supporting the BBI [Building Bridges Initiative] and I thought we were moving forward but now I know these people [ODM leaders] cannot change. They believe in violence if they do not get what they want..." Kuria claimed.

"Uhuru Kenyatta, I respect you and we love but you are leading us into the wrong place. I have to tell you, you are lying to yourself. He has people who are using shortcuts to get power. I could not believe a whole MP was beaten and forced to cry out like a child," Kuria added.

As a result, MP Kuria vowed to reject the BBI report saying he had changed his mind on Kenyatta-Odinga unity deal following the violence in Kibra.

A section of Jubilee leaders including former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi faced hostility from people perceived to be ODM supporters during the by-election.

Kuria you're a very Intelligent person who should know very well that with or without Handshake, Uhuru has Nothing to Lose. He already got his 2 term presidency through Crook and Cranny; yes! through Crook and Cranny. And he is Happly and Luckly done. So just leave him alone.

Hon. Kuria, has anyone ever been so kind enough to let you know that nobody cares anymore what you think or say? Besides being an embarrassment you are certainly a big joke! Please leave Kenyatta alone. You are no better than he is.

I don't believe that Uhuru, Ruto, or Raila know what tomorrow holds. Uhuru wants to govern in peace, hence the 'handshake'. He will do the best that he can, so as to have a clear conscience. I am still waiting to see his game plan for 2022, if he has one. I don't think that he has one. Like Kibaki before him, he will simply retire, and leave the field for others to fight over.

I have the same feeling, these ODM people believe in violence to achieve their fortune. Look at the like of Junet Mohamend. Ruto might not solve the problems of this nation, but I profoundly believe that the Handshake team will equally not save this dear nation. All said, bora uhai!

The “violence” in Kibra was stage managed by Ruto himself through guys like Sudi, Murkomen and Khalwale. Ruto will do desperate things to gain political notoriety. His gimmick is to portray Raila as a violent man to scare Kenyans. Well, his crooked ways are quickly catching us with him.

The main problem with Kuria is his short sightedness in nearly everything he talks about. His myopic eye will certainly deliver him to the destination of political dust bin. He seems cozying up to Ruto - a bonafide master of corruption and glaring greed. Very soon all the negative Ruto characteristics will definitely catch up with Kuria. His goose is already boiling hot, if not yet cooked!
