MP Moses Kuria Acquitted of Hate Speech Charges against Raila, Wife

A Nairobi court has dismissed an incitement case against Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.

In the case, MP Kuria had been charged with uttering insulting and inciting remarks against Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and his wife Ida.

Kuria was accused of making the unprintable remarks against Odinga and Ida during a political function at Wangige area in Kiambu on September 11th, 2017.

In a ruling on Friday, Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi dismissed the charges against Kuria, saying the Jubilee MP has no case to answer.

Magistrate Andayi ruled that a video presented in court was in Kikuyu language and that the prosecution failed to authenticate its source.

“The video was purely in Kikuyu and the prosecution failed to avail a Kikuyu translator,” said Magistrate Andayi.

He further noted that the ‘wembe ni ule ule’ words uttered by MP Kuria in the video cannot be interpreted to mean they could cause harm or death to anyone.

The magistrate also ordered the Sh300,000 MP Kuria had deposited in court as cash bail for his release be returned to him.

He was not supposed to be charged so far, Kenya will be better off without the terrorist Raila Odinga ( hope he will be gone by 2022) . The difference between Raila and Bin laden is one shaves every morning and the other one never, they all work on the same book- destruction
