Three Charged with Drugging Woman in Nairobi CBD, Stealing Sh370,000 from Her

Three people have been arraigned in court for allegedly drugging and stealing Sh370,000 from a woman in Nairobi CBD.
Appearing before Milimani Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot, the three suspects identified as Bernard Mbatia Maina, Harrison Nyamu Gunda, and Edgar Mwandisha Mwangesha were charged with drugging and stealing from Patricia Wanjiku Warugongo, a clearing and forwarding sales agent.
The three are accused of administering a stupefying drug known as benzodiazepine to the victim on July 17th, 2019 before robbing her.
The court was told that Ms. Warugongo was coming from a meeting with a client who had paid her Sh370,000 in cash when she ran into the first accused person, Maina, who pretended to ask for directions to a children’s home.
Maina then administered the stupefying drug on Ms. Warugongo before taking her to a building near Uhuru Park where he was joined by the other two accused persons, Gunda and Mwangesha.
The three stole the money and the victim’s handbag worth Sh2,500, which contained her personal effects and documents.
The three pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on a cash bail of Sh300,000 each.
The case will be mentioned on August 7th, 2019.

My sympathy to the lady - this has happened to me once right at the JKIA when I was dealing with the custom officers.
Although my interest here's how did the thugs got apprehend - see the Editor needs to come out with details and not hanging us in the air to ponder for ourselves. Simply because this could be a learning lessons to others.
Wakilishi make sure stories like this are not flat like this one with s head but not a tail...

@Bwana. Nairobi in collaboration with China have installed CCTVs and butterfly cameras all over the city. The catch is, it depends on who you know to get someone to cough up those tapes. People are being watched like they watch people in China.
