Body Falls Off London-Bound Kenya Airways Flight Minutes Before Landing

Police in the United Kingdom are investigating an incident where a body dropped off a London-bound Kenya Airways flight on Sunday.

The body reportedly fell off the undercarriage of the aircraft minutes before landing at London's Heathrow Airport from Nairobi.

In a statement on Monday, KQ said the body of the unidentified male stowaway fell in a garden in the Borough of Lambeth, South London.

London’s Metropolitan Police tracked the flight radar to KQ Flight 100 after the owner of the garden reported the incident.

Upon the flight's inspection, a bag with some food and clothing was found at the rear left landing gear.

“The incident has been treated as sudden death and is now a police matter. The police have already been in contact with the Kenya High Commission to help identify and name the person,” Kenya Airways said.

The aircraft was cleared for operation after an inspection revealed there was no damage.

“The 6,840km flight takes 8hrs 50mins. It is unfortunate that a person has lost his life by stowing aboard one of our aircraft and we express our condolences,” read the statement.

“Kenya Airways is working closely with the relevant authorities in Nairobi and London as they fully investigate this case.”

I initially thought they had carried a deceased person and the body fell. So he was alive when he boarded 😲😲. How??

@ Mucang'ang'a,from time to time you will hear stowaways hide in the wheel wells. The wells are big enough for somebody to hide in. This space is not pressurized so it can get pretty cold, and the air way up is too thin to sustain life. You can imagine when the gears are retracted that space gets cramped. So it can be hell for a flight of a few hours. Most stowaways end tragically, but once in awhile you aread about a survivor ...It happens quite abit infact.

It is easy to see how this happened, and I don't believe anyone is to blame. The man sneaked into the Airport, when the plane was parked on the tarmac, before it took off. He used the landing gear(the wheels of the Aeroplane) to climb into the wheel compartment, and hide inside. His intention was to travel from Nairobi to London without being seen, or even paying the fare. The trip to London is eight hours, and the plane climbs to 35,000 ft. The outside temperature at this Altitude is -50 degrees Celsius. Only the Cabin of Aeroplane is heated and pressurized. The wings, where the man was, was as cold as the outside. He died a few minutes after the plane took off, from hypothermia. As the plane was preparing to land, the landing gear, where he was hiding, was lowered, and his body fell out.

We were travelling back to Toronto from Dar in 2016 when there was some kind of failure with 5 he aircraft (so we're told) and the plane did an Emergency landing in Nairobi, later found out that there was a stowaway under one of the wings. Stayed in Nairobi for a week until the airline (Swissair) was able to get us on a flight to Toronto.

He wanted to go look for greener pastures. Unfortunately, he failed to understand there is no oxygen up there; nor did he realize how cold it is up there.

This happens once in a while. There is only one known survivor so far. A young man from Hawai who made it to I dont know where. He was 17. The man tried. Cant blame him for trying

@Yawa Baane…..you are right. Can only imagine the desperation that drives to go to this extreme. May he rest in peace. Like you, can't blame someone for trying to better their lives. It's all over BBC London radio as I write this. Poor brother.

THe government of kenya should be held solely responsible for deaths like this, they have ruined the economy and any opportunities for young people leaving them with no choice but to engage in crime and desperate acts like this one. People dont like being in europe just to be, they are running away from hell that you call Kenya

Please wherever you're make hast of doing the righteous thing to be a good example for other. This way the Almighty can smile down for our country. Let put into practice of shy away from corruption and the doer will even be rewarded abundantly here on earth and in heaven.
The opposite of this is as usual the older brothers will only use us and further divide us deeper just for there benefits.
