Kiambu Governor Waititu Arrested as Detectives Raid His Nairobi Homes

Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Thursday arrested Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Waititu was apprehended hours after the detectives raided three of his homes in Nairobi.

The sleuths are said to have arrived at Waititu's homes in Runda, Garden Estate, and
Bellcrest Gardens in Kileleshwa as early as 6 am.

The tens of officers were reportedly in search of files and documents to support ongoing investigations into corruption allegations against Governor Waititu.

The investigations are linked to irregular contracts issued by Waititu’s administration in the last financial year.

EACC is investigating several Kiambu county programs, including the "Kaa Sober" initiative, which aims at rehabilitating alcohol addicts.

The Daily Nation reports that 15 other Kiambu county government officials are targeted in the ongoing investigations.

Waititu was driven to EACC headquarters at Integrity Center for questioning.

Waititu
Kenyans should now understand what Uhuru words meant.
One time he said that he does not care to lose all his friends and make new ones
No two
He said that the war of corruption will continue even if it is his brother he will be taken to court.
This was the same words his father said
Kanyoni wakwa wihithahithe na wonuo nduri wakwa
Waititu now you will not see Ruto the no 1 Kenya thief you worked with Ruto was able to twist Jirongo , Raila and his father Moi the Teacher of corruption

@Lavanox that is it, nothing is going on. In any case this is all political since Waititu is an ardent supporter of Ruto. It is a message to the Mt Kenya leaders to tow the line and leave Tangatanga. War on corruption has been dead for a while now.

"Baba yao" Matunda ya WAFULA CHEBUKATI. Tapeli WAFULA ndiye aliyemruhusu "baba yao" kugombea uchaguzi na huku anajua wazi ya kwamba baba yao hafai hata kidogo hata kuchunga ng'ombe. Ajabu ni kuwa rafiki yake mkubwa sana ni Tapeli mkristo Ruto!

No big deal here. This is called catch and release. A corruption political maneuver meant to pacify mwananchi. Waititu will be home pronto: Evans Kidero was arrested, Obado was arrested, Ojaamong was arrested, Alfred Keter was arrested, Philamena Mwilu was arrested and many others. What we need is real and painful action toward these merciless thieves of public money. All those in leadership positions, once arrested, all their bank accounts should be frozen and all their properties attached until the end of their corruption cases. People in masses should show up in this court cases in solidarity and protest the bail and release of these criminals of the highest order. Judges, prosecutors and lawyers who are already lined up at the corruption feeding trough should be warned that interfering with justice will not be cordoned. I say if the government can't do it, may be it is time for Moab justice- after all, the power, the ultimate power rests with the people. It's our money, it's our pain and suffering- we get to decide the final verdict if we've to. We either rise up and fight corruption together or die of poverty silently and cowardly in solitude.

I think this means that he, like a certain commenter here, is persona non grata in the Lone Star state and pretty much anywhere else on these shores. But I'm sure he will always have the memories.

Move on!! Nothing to see here. This is just a bad joke. The arrest is not real. This is just a bad joke being played on Kenyans. The thief will be out by dinner time. The real crime is the collusion among the judges and the corrupt politicians. All he has to do is bribe the justice department and he will never see the inside of a jail house. Wake up Kenyans. Corrupt judiciary equals corrupt country. The country is infected with this virus called corruption. Tread very carefully.
