Kenyan Woman Wanted for Burglaries in Nairobi, Abroad Arrested at JKIA

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a Kenyan woman described as the most wanted burglar across Africa.

Margaret Waithira Kamande, who is wanted by authorities in several African countries, was arrested on Thursday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as she prepared to travel to Tanzania.

“Ms. Margaret Waithira Kamande, a notorious house breaker was today arrested by DCI Detectives while trying to board a flight to Dar es Salaam,” DCI says in a tweet.

Police say Waithira has been captured on several CCTV cameras breaking into apartments and offices within Nairobi.

She allegedly runs a network of burglary activities within and without the country and is on the list of Interpol's most wanted persons.

“She is also wanted by Interpol, Zimbabwe & other East African countries after she jumped bail which was granted by a Zimbabwean court in offenses related to burglary and stealing. She had been on the run until her arrest,” DCI adds.

Police have also linked her to the killing of an AP officer who was shot dead at Blue Hut hotel while responding to an insecurity call.

@ ndugu Imara, I was reading yesterday in the Daily Nation that crimes perpetrated by women are on the increase in Kenya. Even before this "study" came out,just by reading in the media, one gets the same impression. Too bad.Sasa if it gets inthe trend of mama na baba wote ni wezi, who will nurture watoto.Not to mention that watoto would follow the same career choice,them we will become a country of thieves... hate to think of the outcome.

@Ndugu yangu @Maxiley:

"MTOTO UMLEAVYO, NDIVYO AKUAVYO."

While Eliud Kipchoge is breaking records in the fields you're breaking your records by breaking into other peoples houses! Indeed,Kenya is a country of champions! Both Kamande & Kipchoge should feature in the Guiness book of records!
