Detectives Impound Nairobi Politician Steve Mbogo's Illegally Acquired Range Rover

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday impounded a luxury car belonging to flamboyant Nairobi politician Steve Mbogo.
 
In a statement, the DCI says duty for the Range Rover was not paid and has a registration number belonging to a Toyota Probox.

"Detectives have today afternoon recovered a Range Rover from Mr. Steve Mbogo for the offense of evading duty and fraudulently obtaining Number Plates."

"Upon carrying out preliminary investigations, the vehicle number plates were found to belong to a Probox,” the DCI says in a tweet.

The white Range Rover bears registration number KCL 830A.

This comes barely days after the DCI said detectives were searching for nine vehicles linked to an investigation.

The nine cars include five Toyota Prados, three Toyota Double Cabins and a Land Cruiser Pickup.

The vehicles bear the following number plates; KCN 098G (Toyota Prado), KCN 097G (Toyota Prado), KCN 966F (Toyota Prado), KCN 960F (Toyota Prado), KCP 753Z (Toyota Prado), KCN 096G (Toyota Double Cabin), KCN 133N (Toyota Double Cabin), KCN 139 (Toyota Double Cabin), and KCN 456G (Land Cruiser Pickup).
