Kenyan Politicians Attack Former US President Barack Obama after His Visit to Kenya

A section of Kenyan politicians have slammed former US President Barack Obama following his two-day tour to Kenya.

Led by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria, the leaders accused Obama of doing little to uplift his ancestral home Kogelo, Kenya, and even Africa.

Kuria said the way the former US leader was welcomed and treated shows how "Africans, especially Kenyans, are a weird lot."

Obama arrived in the country on Sunday afternoon and held talks with President Uhuru at the State House and Opposition leader Raila Odinga at a Nairobi hotel. On Monday, he presided over the launch of his sister's projects done under Sauti Kuu Foundation in Kogelo, Siaya County.

"Today as a eunuch former President, he visits Kenya [and] we close all the roads for him. He then proceeds to K'Ogelo, body-searches host Governor Cornel Rasanga and reduces my good friend and Lupita Nyongo's daddy (Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o) into a spectator," said Kuria.

"The skinny kid with a funny name then delivers a seven-minute hollow speech with a curtain raiser from his sister Auma who sets the stage by giving a scathing and condescending indictment of Luo Nyanza leaders."

"No wonder Baba Raila Odinga (opposition leader) skipped the event. Meanwhile the Chicago benefactor goes on to open a $200,000 obscure centre for God knows what.

"The guy found Bill Clinton's Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) in place. The same was expanded by President George Howard Walker Bush. Obama did nothing, absolutely zero, to expand AGOA. Today he launches a $200,000 whatever in Kogelo. Nani alituroga  (who bewitched us)?"Kuria concluded.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale also  accused Obama of failing to " bring development to your home."

Khalwale said: "Dear (Obama), I believe you have landed safely in South Africa, and hope that this finds you well. With tremendous respect Sir, can you tell us why while you were in the most powerful office (of the world’s biggest economy) you refused to bring development to your home, Kenya?"

The claims by the two elicited a heated debate among Kenyans on the social media, and while some defended Obama, others concurred with both Kuria and Khalwale.

Why would anyone attack Obama for not developing Kogelo when he had a population of 400m to lead in America which is 10 times that of Kenya and 0.000000.. that of Kogelo. Obama is only responsible of his family only and by extension mama Sarah only. Kogelo has MCA, MP, Senator, Govenor and Uhunye.
Politicians have become so useless that private citizens like Auma have decided to do something to develop their villages. And when the time comes to celebrate the same useless politicians demand for a seat at the high table.

at the end of the day, why should we be subjected to hand outs in the midst of all this corruption. Its unfomathable to blame Obama, he has nothing to offer the people you elect in those offices must be held accountable. A democracy like US is not owned by presidents. Kenya is a rotten pig sty where sonkonization will continue to prevail. Sonkonization is a must watch on youtube if you have not already

Bongolala Kenyans are the ones to blame. You elect all these useless misleaders/gods just to pay them millions and worship them.Ombama told you(bongolalas) that he had more problems to solve for his country,US and never expect him to solve your problems.Kenyans created corruption themselves which is the mother of all their problems. Why are corrupt people like Uhuru,Raila,Kuria or Kalwale etc leading you to nowhere?

Obama is not the problem. The problem is that he brought no US dollars to give to these critics. When he was president he also did not channel any moneys through these so called leaders to eat. Obama’s is not a Kenyan. He’s an American otherwise, did he ask you for a passport? Did Obama ask the Kenyan government to give him all that security? Did he invite anyone to his event? Those who attended did so voluntarily without any coercion. I hecko Obama’s sister Auma. Carry on the good work and leave the barking dogs to do what they know to do best. Obama, return to your country, the US and carry on with your work. You have no business serving Kenyans. They have their MCAs, Governors, Senators, MPs and Women Reps whose major responsibility is to rape Kenya and enrich their families while leaving the rest of us to eat the bones after they have scrapped them the of all the meat. Kenyans, we have to learn to depend on ourselves and not always wait for handouts.

Billions are stolen from NYS, Cereal Board, Kenya Ports Authority Eurobond, Chicken gate etc. And these morons have the nerve to attack a man who presided over a phenomenal economic recovery in the US?

Let us all be serious. If President Barack Obama facilitated any such money to be given to Kenya through Kuria or through Khalwale, how much of it would have reached the common Kenyan?. President Obama is not a stranger to the rampant corruption in Kenya. He does not need any lessons about who are looting public funds in Kenya, about who has brought Kenya onto its knees, and about who has subjected Kenyans into abject poverty.
