Controversial Activist Njonjo Mue Charged with Dumping Sh850 Worth of Coins at President Uhuru's Office

Kenyan human rights activist, Njonjo Mue has been arraigned in a Nairobi Court where he was charged with offensive conduct.
The lawyer is accused of throwing coins worth Sh850 in a wooden box at President Uhuru Kenyatta's office at Harambee House.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot, Mue pleaded not guilty to two counts of offensive conduct and flying the Kenyan flag without authority.
Mue is alleged to have thrown the box containing the coins at the President's office while driving his Toyota Rav4 car along Harambee Avenue last month.
The prosecution further said the controversial activist unlawfully flew the flag on his car without permission from the Interior ministry.
He is said to have committed the offenses with an intent to provoke breach of peace. "On May 10, at Harambee House along Harambee Avenue, the accused used threatening behaviour, namely throwing a wooden box containing coins," the Prosecution said.
He was freed on a Sh200,000 personal bond and the case will be heard on July 26th.
