Miguna is a Kenyan, We'll Ensure He Returns to Kenya - Duale

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale now says that Miguna Miguna is a Kenyan citizen and will be allowed to return to the country.

In an undated video that has gone viral on social media, Duale is heard saying that plans are underway to have a Kenyan passport delivered to Miguna so he can return to Kenya.

"Miguna atarudi na tutafanya juu chini Miguna arudi. Miguna ni Mkenya atarudi. Tunataka akirudi Kenya iwe moja... Hata Miguna tutamtumania passport," Duale stated.(Miguna will return very soon. Miguna is a Kenyan. He will receive a heroic reception at the airport. He will conduct series of meetings in Kisumu and other parts of the country)

"Akuje alakiwe afanye baraza Kisumu na kila mahali. Alafu atafute kiti 2022, ili hii Kenya iwe moja," the Garissa Township MP added.

( We are going to ensure he is back in the country … We want him back so that we can unite Kenyans and in 2022 he can contest in the general elections.)

The video emerged even as Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday nominated Miguna as the new Nairobi Deputy Governor.

Miguna was scheduled to return to the country on Wednesday, but cancelled the trip citing Immigration Department's refusal to issue him with a Kenyan passport.

Duale was reportedly speaking during the annual Somali Community Cultural Festival held in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
