Deputy President William Ruto Makes an 'Incognito' Visit to Former President Moi's Rural Home, Does Not Meet with Him

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday made an incognito visit to former President Daniel arap Moi's rural home in Kabarak, Nakuru county.

Sources said that Ruto flew to Moi's residence in a private chopper without an appointment and was unable to meet the retired head of state, as he found him busy.

In a statement, the Office of the Former President confirmed that Ruto made the visit, but didn't see Moi since he was having an appointment with his doctors.

Ruto was flanked by Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut and lawyer Stephen Kipkenda.

"Former President Mzee Daniel arap Moi was visited today by Deputy President His Excellency William Ruto at his Kabarak home. Ruto who was accompanied by Energy CS Charles Keter, Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut and lawyer Stephen Kipkenda were welcomed and had lunch at Mzee's Kabarak home," the Statement read.

" Unfortunately, this coincided with the time Mzee Moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors. Mzee Moi agreed to meet the visitors at convenient time another day in the very near future," it added.

It is yet to be established why the Deputy President made the visit without an appointment. Few weeks ago, Opposition leader Raila Odinga also visited Moi in Kabarak  in what he said was a meeting to brief him on the progress of his handshake with President Kenyatta.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has also revealed plans of visiting the ex-President to among other things, seek blessings for his 2022 presidential bid.

Ruto, c'mon! Unannounced visit is a little disrespectful for the mzee, unless of course he is your relative/dad.

@ Guest 1 you are right. Ruto can not go gate-crashing pples houses like that and bottom line is arap Moi wants Gideon (read Kition) to be the next prezo. Fact is heavens will have to come crashing down for that to happen.Husler should be busy helping Uhunye with the four point plan and stop campaigning.
