Nairobi Women Rep Rachael Shebesh Receives Jubilee Nomination Certificate in Hospital Bed

Nairobi County Women Representative Rachel Shebesh was handed her Jubilee party Nomination certificate while on while on a hospital bed on Wednesday.

The controversial Nairobi politician clinched the coveted president Uhuru Kenyatta’s party ticket after beating her closest rival Millicent Omanga in the primaries that were held last month.

Despite her still recuperating from a leg injury, the party awarded the incumbent Women Representative with her nomination papers.

In a Facebook posts on Wednesday, Shebesh congratulated herself and thanked her supporters and Nairobi residents for their undaunted support despite her ill health.

“Thank you Nairobians for your continued support. I have finally been given my nomination certificate, in hospital,” said Shebesh.

Shebesh will be facing her rivals, Party of National Unity (PNU) Winnie Wainaina and ODM’s Esther Passaris in the August 8 elections.

Speaking on citizen TV on Thursday, Winnie Wainaina wished Shebesh quick recovery, adding that she will wait to face her ahead of the August polls.

Shebesh declined to disclose details on what led to her injury on the leg.
