Martha Karua's Niece Dies of Injuries from a Car Accident

A niece to Narc-Kenya leader and candidate for Kirinyaga governor Martha Karua passed away on Monday from injuries following a car accident along Mombasa Rd on Sunday.

Mercia Wawira Mwangi, a fourth-year student at Daystar University, died while undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital. Mercia was reportedly in a car with three other students when the driver of their car rammed into a tractor trailer from behind along Mombasa Rd near the JKIA exit.

The driver of Mercia’s car, also a student at Daystar, died on the spot while Mercia and other passengers were rushed to the hospital. The four friends were said to have been on their way home from Club 1824 located along Langata Rd, one of the friends told Nairobi News.

Martha Karua on Monday eulogized her niece through Twitter. “Mercia Wawira Mwangi my beloved niece succumbed today to injuries from a road accident. She will 4ever live in our hear #RIPMarcia,” wrote Karua.
