Nairobi has lost its bid to stage the 2025 World Athletics Championships after the World Athletics Council settled on Tokyo as the host for the global event.
The Japanese capital pipped Nairobi, Singapore and Poland to earn a chance to host the World Athletics Championships for the first time since 1991.
The announcement was made ahead of this year’s World Athletics Championships which kick off on Friday in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Hungary’s capital Budapest will host the 2023 version.
"Within an extremely strong field of candidates to host the World Athletics Championships 2025, Tokyo offered a compelling bid," World Athletics president Sebastian Coe said in a statement.
"I hope this will be a shining light for Japan as they celebrate 100 years of the Japanese Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) in 2025, by bringing world-class athletics back to the people in Tokyo."
This means Tokyo's Olympic Stadium will host a major athletics event in a packed venue, four years after staging the pandemic-delayed Olympic Games in an empty arena.
"History has shown that we have the ability and energy to host the world's top athletes and to inspire international audiences," JAAF President Mitsugi Ogata said in a statement.
"We promise that the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo will be full of fans to become an unforgettable experience for the athletes and everyone involved.”
They stole all the money fundraised for All-Africa games.
The worst scenario is that they ask for bribes for visas to come to the country to participate in the games.
If they can steal covid-19 money meant to assist ailing ones, and use to it fund a senile Oldman for prezo, who can trust them with another funding, who is that foolish to award Kenya mafisi money
