Westlands Skyline to Grow Taller with New Hotel Residence

The upscale district of Westlands is set to welcome a major addition to its skyline as CityBlue Hotels unveils plans for Le Mirage Residences, a luxury residential hospitality development in partnership with SMB Properties.

Le Mirage will comprise 256 serviced apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, and is scheduled for completion by late 2027. When finished, it will be among the tallest residential developments in Westlands. The property will feature more than 52,000 square feet dedicated to lifestyle and wellness amenities, offering over 22 distinct areas designed to enhance comfort, leisure, and convenience for its residents.

This project is expected to provide a competitive alternative to both luxury hotels and home ownership in one of Nairobi’s most sought-after neighbourhoods. It represents a broader trend in the city toward mixed-use, vertically integrated living spaces that cater to the evolving preferences of urban professionals and international travellers.

Jameel Verjee, Chief Executive Officer of CityBlue Hotels, stresses the importance of the collaboration with SMB Properties, noting that it combines CityBlue’s hospitality expertise with SMB’s strong background in local property development. Verjee also reveals that 50% of the units have already been sold, a figure he sees as strong evidence of growing interest in sustainable, luxury urban living.

To maintain service quality and consistency, CityBlue Hotels will manage the residences on behalf of individual owners, helping to ensure brand integrity and a premium living experience. Quresh Zakir, Chairman of SMB Properties, reiterates the development's commitment to sustainability. He notes that Le Mirage adheres to United Nations blue zone standards and incorporates a variety of green features aimed at reducing environmental impact.

This focus on sustainable design aligns with the increasing interest from both local and international investors in Nairobi’s modern real estate offerings.
