Meet Cecelia Wangari, the 78-Year-Old Granny Fixing Car Sound Systems for Motorists in Nairobi

A 78-year-old Kenyan granny working as a music technician in Nairobi has won the hearts of Kenyans online.

At the age of 78, many grandmothers in Kenya and other countries mostly spend their sunset days in the village, relying on their children and grandchildren to take care of them, but that's not the case for Cecilia Wangari.

Wangari runs "Shosh Sound Systems" shop located along Outering road in Nairobi and with a complete garage where she fixes music systems for public and private vehicles.

"This business is good because I can stock these items for years when business is low. It depends on the customers since they see the sign post and come. My family members do not want to be employed too. They tell me they do not want boring jobs," she told Citizen TV reporter who visited her shop.

Surprisingly, the septuagenarian says she learnt how to fix car music system on her own as she has never stepped into any technical institution to learn the job.

"Let everyone stop being lazy and idle. If we all work hard, we can end some of the financial constraints we are facing. However, no child will work hard without support and guidance from the parents," she advised.

Her story left Kenyan on social media talking, majority hailing her for choosing work as opposed to relying on handouts from relatives.

@DrSamsonRonoh said:" This is what 'working hard and not waiting for the govt' means! She deserves to replace the politicians on our TV screens."

@mugurec noted: "These are the stories we need to hear and watch everyday!"

@stevenheartz tweeted: "These are the real stories that should be making headlines.. Strong shosh.."

@Kihara_John noted: "Kenyans cannot afford to retire, even public servants have to chase NSSF instead of enjoying time with grand kids."

@Jymo88473838 said:"Great,a good picture of our young guys who keep on complaining about gvt not creating job where they can create job through kidogo they get."
