ODM Apologizes After MP Mary Wamaua is Roughed Up at Kasarani Stadium

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has apologized to Maragua MP Mary Wamaua after she was allegedly roughed up at the Azimio La Umoja convention at Kasarani Stadium on Friday.

ODM Chairman John Mbadi says the party regrets the unfortunate incident and will ensure this does not happen again in the future.

“Although it was not majorly an ODM affair, but the Azimio la Umoja event, our party leader H.E. Hon Raila Odinga was the man of the moment and used the occasion to make a major announcement about his political plans for 2022, and so as a party, we regret the ugly incident and commit to ensure such incidents do not happen again,” Mbadi said in a statement.

“On behalf of the ODM party, I take this opportunity to publicly apologize to Hon. Wamaua for the indecent handling and pray that she, together with the people of Maragua will accept our apology.”

He further noted that Odinga is a strong defender of women’s rights and their empowerment, adding that the party is committed to defending and upholding the dignity of women.

A video shared on social media shows MP Wamaua, who declared her support for Deputy President William Ruto in October, trying to force her way into the arena where the event was held but security officers blocked her.

ODM secretary-general Edwin Sifuna says there was a miscommunication between MP Wamaua and the event organizer, adding that she did not communicate her intention to attend the convention.

“This regrettable incident could have been avoided if only she let us know in advance that she would be joining us. Pole sana Mhesh,” Sifuna said.

Sifuna, you're not fooling anyone with your fake apologies. Raila is the mother of all violence and ODM is the epi-center of intimidation, corruption and violence in Kenya. Raila oozes out violence. August 1982 coup, thousands of Kenyans were killed- for days, corpses littered the streets of Nairobi. Raila bragged in his book written with Babafemi Badejo-that he was the architect of the coup. Raila calls for mass action everytime he looses an election. It's his call for street thugs to go looting shops, burning vehicles and beating up motorists. ODM's signature is violence even when holding their own internal party elections, they attack each other like mad dogs (Ref: Men in black). In 2022, Kenyans must reject Raila for Kenya to be peaceful in the years ahead.

This is a catch-22 situation. When politicians from the other side don’t show up they are accused of unstatemanship. When they show up they are beaten up. Sasa itakuwaje???
