DCI Director Names Six British Soldiers Linked to the Murder of Agnes Wanjiru

Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti is confident that the British soldier responsible for the brutal murder of Agnes Wanjiru will be brought to Kenya to face trial.

Kinoti says detectives have made progress in their investigations and will soon travel to the UK to interrogate witnesses.

Appearing before the Parliamentary Defense Committee, the DCI director confirmed they have the names of all British soldiers who were at the hotel where Wanjiru was murdered nine years ago.

The soldiers were identified as Hendry Liam Robert, Redford James William, Soens Ryan Paul, Creighton Daniel, Thornton Daniel John, and Smith Karl Erick. The soldiers will help to identify the main suspect.

"The evidence which we have…it’s just a matter of identification. The suspect is among the names which we have already given, and they’re identified with their hotel rooms," Kinoti told the committee.

"So on that, we’re well covered and we believe by the time we shall be finishing, because we’re not very sure whether they entered the room together with deceased or she was killed before they entered the room, that’s my submission for the time being.”

The lifeless body of Wanjiru was found in a septic tank at Lions Court Hotel in Nanyuki, two months after she disappeared on March 31st, 2012.

On the night she went missing, the 21-year-old sex worker was at the hotel where some British soldiers were drinking beer, dancing, and having sex with local women.

She reportedly left the seating area in the company of one of the British soldiers and that was the last time she was seen alive. Wanjiru left behind a five-month-old daughter.

So sad for a post independence government of Kenya allowing such treatment of its citizenry in Kenya, by the said Europeans.
