Raila Defeats COVID-19 After Three Weeks in Isolation

ODM party leader Raila Odinga has recovered from COVID-19, nearly three weeks after he went into isolation after testing positive.

Through a statement posted on its social media page on Wednesday, ODM said Odinga was found to be COVID-free following the second round of testing.

"We are happy our Party Leader Raila Odinga has tested negative and is out of danger of Covid-19. We thank God for that,” the party tweeted.

Odinga went into isolation after he was diagnosed with the disease at the Nairobi Hospital on March 11th, having been admitted to the facility for fatigue and body ache. He was discharged a few days later to recuperate at home.

On Wednesday, Odinga held a meeting with the leadership of ODM to discuss various national matters, including the ongoing vaccination campaign and containment measures against COVID-19, the state of the economy, and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

“In the spirit of the Handshake and the wider goals of the BBI Amendment Bill, we agreed on the need for Parliament to fast track the process and release the document to the public to enable the people of Kenya to have a final say on the envisaged changes to the constitution via a referendum,” Odinga said in a statement.

The meeting was attended by Siaya Senator James Orengo, ODM chairman John Mbadi, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, Treasurer Timothy Bosire, and Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga.

“We committed to engage the government with a view to coming up with ways and means to cushion the people from the ravages of the economy especially during these times of lockdown,” Odinga added.

Sifuna says we use the money allocated for the BBI to take care of the urgency of covid19.

Raila can’t be so cold hearted not to understand the nation is sick and any available money must be channeled to buying Covid 19 to safe the people.

This guy just had covid19, got the best doctors to treat him and now his old mind is stuck in the stupid referendum? Come on Raila! You can do better than always thinking what is the best political position for you.

The Reggae must be put on break to have a healthy nation first!

Raila is beginning to aggravate Kenyans by acting like he does not realize the country is holding on the strands of covid19.

Sir, you just had COVID and now you are acting like that was not a big deal? All you want is to be president in 2022 but you are not thinking about those who could vote for you!? Wow, no wonder I hate politicians!

Your own father failed to become president because he was greedy! You are behaving the same way DP Ruto has selfishly behaved.

Put the reggae train back on the dock and buy covid19 medicine! Kenyans are hurting; many have died! Let’s us common sense here!
