Kenyan Girls Sexually Abused by American Sex Pest Gregory Dow React After He Pleaded Guilty in US

Kenyan girls who fell victim to American sex pest Gregory Dow have reacted after the 61-year-old pleaded guilty to sexual offenses before a US court.

Dow from Lancaster in Pennsylvania pleaded guilty to four counts of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor between 2013 and 2017.

He sexually abused four underage girls at a children’s home he and his wife established in Bomet County, Kenya in 2008.

The court heard that Dow purported to be a Christian missionary who would care for these orphans. They called him ‘dad’ but instead of being a father figure for them, he preyed on their youth and vulnerability.

“He used force and coercion to perpetrate the most heinous of crimes, preying on vulnerable children for his own sexual gratification,” the prosecution said.

Dow pleaded guilty following a plea agreement that he would serve 15 years and eight months in prison and register as a sex offender.

Dow fled the country in 2017 after a warrant of arrest was issued against him over rape allegations.

Victims who spoke to Daily Nation said Dow and his wife Mary Rose implanted birth control devices on them to prevent them from getting pregnant in the course of the sexual abuse. They want the sex pest handed a stiff penalty for destroying their lives.

“We were given anti-fertility implants at a clinic in Litein trading center in Kericho County in what Dow said would ensure we are safe from pregnancy,” one victim said.

 “Looking back and reflecting at what happened to us (girls) at the orphanage, I can say it was pretty bad. We were helpless… weird things happened to us at a tender age.”
 
“He took advantage of our naivety with most of us losing our virginity in his hands,” she added.

The girls said Dow would summon them at different times to a room with an extra bed where he defiled them repeatedly.

“We have learned that he has confessed to his misdeeds and may get up to a 16-year jail term. That is a slap on the wrist,” another victim said.

She added that a total of nine of the girls at the children's home had anti-fertility devices and Dow sexually abused them with consent from his wife.

“Every two years, those of us who had the implants were taken to the clinic for a checkup,” said another victim.
