Uhuru’s Reaction to Waititu’s Impeachment

President Kenyatta reacted to the impeachment of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
The Senate on Wednesday approved Waititu’s impeachment on the grounds of gross violation of the Constitution and public finance management act, crimes under the national law and gross misconduct/abuse of office.
Waititu was ousted in December 2019 after 63 out of 92 Members of the Kiambu County Assembly (MCAs) voted in support of an impeachment motion tabled by Ndenderu Ward Representative Solomon Kinuthia.
In the motion, MCA Kinuthia cited gross misconduct and abuse of office as the main grounds for Waititu’s impeachment. He also accused Waititu of flouting the public procurement and disposal act by influencing the award of contracts to companies associated with his immediate family and close relatives.
Waititu also faced another accusation of violating the constitution by forcefully dispossessing and unlawfully occupying a parcel of land in Thika belonging to Cecilia Njoki Mbugua, a widow.
Speaking in Nyandarua on Friday, President Kenyatta warned that more leaders would be sent home and to prison over corruption.
"It is only a matter of time. These people (corrupt politicians and state officials) will be in Kamiti. They were not elected to loot public funds,” Kenyatta said.
He urged Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia and other leaders to prudently manage public funds to avoid finding themselves in the same situation as Waititu.
“Kimemia be alert. These MCAs might land you in the same trouble as seen in some other place. You have seen what they are capable of doing in Kiambu…If your hand is long, it will be cut short, not by me but by those who own the resources (Kenyans)," stated Uhuru.
Kenyatta also declared that the ongoing war against corruption would continue and no one, including his friends, would be spared.
"Even if you are my best friend, I won't be your friend if you dip a hand in the public coffers. To some, when I look at the other side, they dip their hands to steal, when I turn back I find they have eaten everything from the basket. Not anymore. We must protect public resources.”
"They are saying when I fight graft that I am targeting individuals. No. Those being sought after are those who have taken what does not belong to them."
“You are going to see more arrests. You leaders, be careful. This is a different Kenya,” he added.

Sonko, Kidero, Ruto, and many more. Let's clean house. No mercy; chicken thieves are lynched. Public funds looters need to be lined up and shot publicly. Brutal but it will bring common sense to thieves.

There shouldn't be selective war on corruption. Health ministry NYS- Mega scandal, Vijana funds scandal, Goldenberg scandal, NYS scandal, Maize scandal and grabbing of public land or community land , asking for money from investors e.g Dominion etc.....all this is corruption and stifles growth. Whether it happened today,or in the past it is still corruption and restitution MUST happen NOW because all these evil actions affected and continue to affect Wanainchi and Kenya in one way or the other.

Solomon Kinuthia - a model MCA, a true man of the people!
And how I wish and pray that all Kenyans can gather Mr. Kinuthia’s will power and courage to fight corruption; and yes, how I surely wish that more men and women can stand up to fight thieves of our resources!!!
Of course the TangaTanga thieves will fight back because they are all corrupt thieves. They all have a bedroom in Ruto’s bedrooms of corruption! They will all claim witch hunt when asked to account for the people’s money they pick pocketed in the wee hours of the night!
Ati, mtu wetu anaonewa kind of sympathy nonsense! You steal alone, you carry your cross alone, you go to jail alone, and then pay back all you money you stole from the people! It is that simple!!!
Kenyans, are you not tired of these thieves? They only come crying back to you after they have been caught! Is a thief of our coffers “mtu wetu anaonewa?” We all better than this kind of nonsense!!
Yes, how I surely pray!!

In order to survive this selective corruption hunting onslaught, you must be out fully supporting BBI. Without which your goose is cooked!
This BBI thing in itself is corrupt entity having costed so far Ksh 11 billion. Ostensibly supposed to be a referendum. Which means the changes should be people driven but not top government driven. Most of the changes of law in this clown thing are indeed good but has to be passed through parliament. It does not have to cost Khs 11 billion and everybody’s time? Apparently it is getting more divisive than it’s intended purpose!

@ass - you sound like Sudi, Kuria, Murkomen, Ruto, Sonko, Waititu, the meat head Kimani wa Bahati, Faith Gitau, Nyoro, Wahome wa Kandara, when they simultaneously speak in one corrupt accord in support of the high priest of corruption!
These characters are the bonafide kingpins if corruption and thieves of our coffers. You must be a thief too to feel sympathy for the the big thieves!
Kenyans are now telling them to stop stealing from them and be accountable. They all have had issues with the CDF money audits - ya, if that is what you call selectively fighting corruption, so be it! We need all our stolen money back, and the thieves locked up! All of it!

@ass. I pretty sure I sound like myself. Stop burying your head in the sand. The most corrupt are those that start extortion project’s like bbi. People like you. The corrupt ones are those that run down institutions so that they can buy it . The bug stops at the head of state.
