Tob Cohen Murder: Sarah Wairimu Asks Court to Free Her So She can Fight for Multi-Million-Shilling Property

Sarah Wairimu, the prime suspect in the murder of her husband Tob Cohen on Monday requested the court to release her on bail so she can be able to fight for her share of the multi-million-shilling property she co-owned with the Dutch tycoon.

Wairimu, through her attorney Philip Murgor, told the court that she has a pending divorce case where she is fighting for 50 percent stake in the estate she jointly owned with her husband.

She indicated that their Kitusuru home, which is valued at Sh400 million, risked being grabbed since no one is living at the house.

"Wairimu's housekeepers were chased away after the body [of Cohen] was retrieved," Murgor stated according to Standard Digital.

Murgor dismissed reports appearing on a local media claiming that the slain billionaire businessman had bequeathed the palatial house to his sister, Gabrielle Van Straten.

The lawyer further submitted that the prosecution, which is opposing Wairimu’s release, has no valid reasons to continue detaining his client.

On Monday, Justice Jessie Lesiit ordered Wairimu be held in police custody until September 26th, when she will be arraigned for plea taking. Justice Lesiit further directed that mental assessment be done on Ms. Wairimu within seven days.

Ms. Wairimu is accused of killing Cohen between July 19th and July 20th within Nairobi County jointly with others, according to a charge sheet presented in court.

The body of Cohen was found inside an underground water tank at his Kitisuru home in Nairobi last Friday. The tycoon had gone missing on July 19th, 2019.

Before his disappearance, Cohen and Ms. Wairimu were embroiled in a bitter divorce case involving a multi-million-shilling property. Cohen, who had lived in Kenya for 32 years, had also sued Wairimu for assault.

The gruesome murder of Tob Cohen by Sarah Wairimu and her accomplice is an example of how greed has overtaken serenity of life in Kenya. Greed comes in all shapes and sizes, but it takes a special kind of greed to kill someone over property. Sarah Wairimu possesses such kind of greediness. She did her math and concluded that it was less risky to kill Cohen than to go through the divorce case and lose everything at the end. Wives killings husbands mysteriously in Central part of Kenya is a common occurrence. In fact Central Kenya has a very big population of widowers compared to other parts of Kenya, a phenom the government has not looked into. As with everything else in Kenya how deep she is loaded(moneywise) will determine whether she has a date with a hangman

@ Koni Hanene this is not about TRIBES who kill or don't . STOP IT if you have humanity in yourself it is about HUMAN LIFE which was taken away unnecessarily
If it was about Kikuyu women murders all over Kenya then the percentage of deaths in our country would be very low . Murderers come in all shapes and sizes and . Pls let this be a topic of another day .Let us now mourn another life taken for the WRONG REASON. STOP YOUR HATRED AND TRIBALISM NO ONE CHOSE TO BE BORN IN WHATEVER TRIBE RACE. IT IS A ABOUT LATE COHEN AND HIS FAMILY WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH

HEHE! HOW CAN IT BE TRIBALISM WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT YOUR OWN TRIBE! THOUGHT KONI WAS FROM CENTRAL KENYA. Koni has spoken the plain truth! You have to call out the demon and rebuke it. Ndio mambo yabadilike! Nothing will ever change if Kikuyu women are never told to stop killing their husbands for money and property. Look into the archives. Thousands of men from all corners of the world being killed slowly and quietly by their Kikuyu wives. Not tribalism, just stating facts here!

Would anyone want that? Maybe for Wairimu is no big deal unless the media omitted she NEVER AT ANY TIME Said ; she was mourning that she was in disbelief or broken hearted. She must be very strong to cope silently with the loss of a husband of many years.

it is not about let out to go to MOURN and bury her husband . No it is about PROPERTY . This demonstrates inhumanity , pure hate and exceptional, if not unprecedented. this is failure to think while the crime was consciously committed

Fight for her property vs fight for her husband and her innocence. Funga yeye kabisa may you never see the light of day!

Cohen needed Kenyan majuala. He went to coast, got connected to this prostitute AKA Sarah Wairimu, through a pimp mama at the coast. So hebu niambie, what do you expect? A prostitute who didn't give two shits about this old mzungu but stayed hoping that he would one day drop and die but didn't VS an old racist mzungu (So many reports linking him to how badly he spoke of and treated Kenyans and top it up with drugs and alcoholism=crazy, mad, old, racist mzungu) who already got what he wanted (Kenyan majualas) and wanted to get rid of the prostitute he picked up at the coast. So they had all had enough of each other. Too much what's this word? Scorn? Disdain? Disrespect? Deprecation? Disparagement? Denigration? Opprobrium? Odium? Obloquy? Scornfulness? Derision? Mockery? Ridicule? Disgust? Loathing? Detestation? Abhorrence? Hatred? Hatred? Hate? (Notice I said hate thrice?) Abhorrence? Abomination? Execration? Odium? Antipathy? Dislike? Hostility? Animosity? Ill will? Ill feeling? Bad feeling? Malice? Animus? Enmity? Aversion?
Repugnance? Disgust? Revulsion? Yuck factor? Bitterness? Indignation? Irritation? Pique? Displeasure? Dissatisfaction? Disgruntlement? Discontentment? Discontent? Bad feelings? Hard feelings? Acrimony? Rancor? Hostility? Jaundice? Antipathy? Antagonism? Enmity? Resentment? YES RESENTMENT! That's the word. There were all these and more on Both sides. But one was willing to kill to have her way. Rather than get divorced and be thrown back to the "street walking" life she had before meeting the millionaire Cohen, she was ready to kill. After all she's in her 50s, she probably wouldn't be as marketable as she was when she was younger! She had already tasted the goodness of being on the other side, living as a respectable wife of Someone rich, flying all over the world as her husband's business partner, gaining the respect of her peers and villagemates, she wouldn't see herself going back to that life. Probably Cohen being an old deranged mzungu mentioned this every waking day; told her how he picked her up from the gutter and how he would divorce her and leave her with nothing! So he was cautious of her, slept in a seperate bedroom, ate food only prepared by a trusted worker, made friends with powerful Kenyans whom he hoped would scare her into doing something stupid like killing him. Being a fast learner, she too made friends with the high and mighty. As Cohen solicited for sex outside their marriage, so did she. And she made sure that she had the backing of Corrupt but powerful Kenyan police and others who would come to her aid when she put her plan to action! She knew that this day would come. And she would be ready. When I saw her this morning, walking to witness her husband's autopsy AKA the PERFECT CULMINATION OF HER PLANS, I saw a fearless, remorseless woman who was ready for anything. She has entangled people in the Kenyan police and judiciary and has paid and will continue to pay them should she be set free which she will. She will join other murderers walking freely in Kenyan streets, set free by THE Corrupt KENYAN JUDICIARY. UNLESS someone more powerful gets mixed up in this and her millions would mean nothing compared to their reputation and then they decide to hang her for her crimes instead of all of them going down. All well meaning Kenyans and the people of Netherlands (Cohen's birthplace) are praying for Sarah Wairimu and her army of Kenyan Corrupt officials, to screw themselves up and entangle themselves in a web so complicated that they will ALL PAY FOR MURDERING COHEN. Two takeaways:-
1. You get what you deserve. A leopard naver changes it's spots. Deal with a prostitute, gladly accept the repercussions, including death.
2. You can buy your way out of anything in Kenya. The Kenya Police and The Kenyan Judiciary Remain the MOST CORRUPT, FOREVER! The don't even fear Karma. They know their actions will lead them to the grave, but they will still let murderers walk scot-free!

She should be thinking about her prison time not about money....tamaa iliua fisi....but anyway money is a tool for the fools....it jumps from one fool to another...someone else who didn't even work for it will start enjoying it.

I will wait for due process. There is too much hemorrhage by many about this case. Some have even convicted whole communities based on their perception of guilt in this case. Guilt has not been proven yet. Hold your horses!
