DP William Ruto Rubbishes Reports of Uhuru’s JKIA Drama

Deputy President William Ruto has rubbished an article by The Standard claiming that he was involved in another drama with President Uhuru at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) last week.

In a Monday front-page story titled "Uhuru in New Airport Drama Over Ruto Ally", the Standard reported that Kenyatta was unhappy with one of the allies who accompanied Ruto to receive him at JKIA after a trip to Japan on Thursday.

Upon landing at JKIA, Kenyatta was welcomed by Ruto, Chief of Defense Forces General Samson Mwathethe, military service commanders, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, and Nandi Governor Stephen Sang among others.

Uhuru was not amused by DP Ruto’s decision to bring with him Governor Sang and is reported to have sent his aides to order State House photographers to delete photos taken during the function at JKIA, The Standard said.

The publication stated that Kenyatta had adopted a policy where he would not be seen in public with individuals charged with any crime. Governor Sang was a few weeks ago charged with incitement to violence, abuse of office and malicious damage to property and was freed on Sh1 million cash bail.

Reacting to The Standard’s article through his official Twitter handle, DP Ruto noted, "Kenyans can see through Standard Media's desperate gutter journalism lies of drama.”

He added: "Jubilee is built on rock-solid philosophy and beliefs that no amount of scheming and propaganda can undermine.”

I decamped from Tanga Tanga, when Ruto publicly acknowledged that he is Campaigning for 2022. A VP does not campaign, when the Boss is still in office, just as Children do not fight for their inheritance, when the Father is still alive. It is disrespectful.
