I Will Run for President in 2022, Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana Declares

Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana says his name will be on the presidential ballot in the 2022 general elections.

Speaking in Turkana during the fifth Annual Tobong’ulore Festival, Governor Kivutha said he joined the race to succeed President Kenyatta after pressure from many Kenyans.

“Walisahau kuweka picha yangu huko kwa presidential aspirants kwa sababu hata mimi nilisema mwezi huu kuwa hata mimi nitakuwa katika kinyang’anyiro… I will be on the ballot,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana also warned leaders against downplaying Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid, stating that he is a frontrunner.

“Those who take you for granted and think that you do not matter are very wrong. Yes, they are very wrong and I can say that boldly because I am a constitutional political analyst and a politician for that matter. I know your capability,” Kibwana told Ruto, who also attended the function.

Kibwana had earlier announced he would retire from politics at the end of his current term in 2022.

Kivutha, so you announce your candidature infront of corrupt Ruto then salute him saying he is the front runner? You sound like you are in team Tangatanga than a serious candidate.Grow a spine and tell yourself you can win. Kenyans are counting on you.

There is a saying that those who can, do, and those who can't teach. It is also fair to say that those who can't criticize. This is well demonstrated by vocal Moi era 'reformers' and Government critics such as Kivutha, Raila, James Orengo, and Makau Mutua. Despite their Eloquence when criticizing, when given the mantle to lead, they have not translated their 'vision' into anything tangible. Kivutha cannot be rated as a 'performing' Governor. The Raila wing of the Grand Coalition government was the more corrupt one, as was Orengo's Lands Ministry, which oversaw more theft of public land than even the Moi era. I am not excited about his candidacy, and I don't expect him to go far.

Wakamba msinirushie mawe lakini wanaume wakamba ni wazuri lakini, sijui nani atakuwa anawasukuma. Ni wa kusukumwa aki. I will gladly vote for Prof. Kivutha Kibwana if he can wanasemanga aje? Become more? Grow some? Kenya iko na wwnda wazimu Boss, in as much as we need a classy, diligent, intelligent and natural born leader, tunahitaji mtu kichaa kidogo. How do you take the country back from someone who is reportedly (remember the word is reportedly) a drunkard president and another one who is reportedly a drug lord masquerading as the "city in the sun's" governor. Like I said Kenyans are comfortable na uncouth wendawazimus so na wewe pia itanidi you offer something more than your intellect, trac record and "upole"
