US to Second Senior Prosecutor to Boost Kenya's War on Graft

The United States Department of Justice has pledged to help Kenya in its fight against corruption.
This follows a meeting between US Deputy Attorney General Bruce Swartz and a Kenyan delegation led by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti.
Swartz said the US Department of Justice will second a Senior Prosecutor to the Kenyan government to strengthen the ongoing war on graft.
“The Kenya Delegation meeting with the US Deputy Attorney General was attended by FBI, Resident Legal Advisor at the @USEmbassyKenya , and the Director of @DCI_Kenya,” the Office of Directorate of Public Prosecutions said in a tweet.
Haji and Kinoti also held discussions with the Head of Public Integrity Section at US Department of Justice, Annalou Tirol.
The talks focused on best practices in dealing with public corruption cases in Kenya.
On Tuesday, the Kenyan delegation met officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) led deputy director David Bowdich.
Speaking during the meeting at the bureau’s headquarters in Washington, Bowdich hailed Kinoti and Haji for their efforts in the fight against corruption in Kenya.
Bowdich said the agency will support Kenya's efforts to curb the practice.
